Hey guys, welcome to etrailer.com. I'm Bobby, and today we're taking a look at the Yakima OffGrid cargo basket on our 2020 Chevy Traverse. Now, this gonna be a great way, of course, getting that cargo out of our car up onto our roof. While that might be an easy option for us, but each Traverses don't come with hitches, so getting this up on a roof is gonna be a good option rather than having to get that hitch, then get the cargo basket. All we gotta do hopefully get something that's not gonna cost us nearly as much to get that affordability on top of here. Keep it in mind too, we do get a lot of space in the Traverse, however, when we start getting a lot more people especially in those back rows, not a lot of room. more

You may be not be able to see out of the back window, or your kiddos are just gonna be kinda clumped up and they're gonna be a little bit more not as quiet on those longer trips. Yakima Roof Basket Review - 2021 Toyota 4Runner- Video
Hey, everybody, I'm Bobby. And today at etrailer.com, we're taking a look at our Yakima OffGrid Cargo Basket on our 2021 Toyota 4Runner. The thing to keep in mind with the 4Runner here, as you can see, these raised rails are actually pretty backset on the vehicle, The thing to keep in mind, especially you're adding that extension onto the cargo room roof rack as well, is that this door does swing up a little bit here, so be mindful of the space. If I do a quick measurement here, looks like about 17 inches or so to the back of that cargo basket. That can get a little troublesome especially you add any long items, so just keep that in mind. And right away, as you can see here, this cargo basket is gonna give us a lot of room. more

Hi there Jeep owners. Today, your 2021 Jeep Gladiator, we're going to be taking a look at the MegaWarrior from Yakima. Now, in order to install the MegaWarrior onto your Jeep Gladiator, you're going to need to have an option to do so. You can either use a roof rack or a ladder rack, whichever is the best option for your Gladiator. You also want to keep in mind that this carrier here needs a minimum spread of 36 inches, with a maximum spread up to 60. So you do want to make sure that the component you're planning on mounting it to has the appropriate spread to do so. more

Have you planned on taking a decent amount of people in your Equinox on a longer trip They're probably gonna have a whole lot of stuff whether you have coolers, your bags or any type of other gear that may be starting to clutter up the back maybe it's starting to obscure your vision through your rear-view mirror. That's not something we really want. It's gonna be nice just to get all that stuff up and out side of the Equinox so we can have a lot more space on the inside to keep everybody a lot more comfortable. There isn't a whole lot of things we need to worry about when getting this up and onto our roof, it's relatively light so you could do it by yourself but also with the roof rack setup. more

Andy: Hello everyone. Andy here with etrailer. And today we're going to go over the Yakima Off-grid Roof Cargo Basket on our 2013 Volkswagen Jetta. Having a smaller vehicle such as a Jetta, whether you have extra cargo or you have passengers and cargo, you need an option between a roof basket or a cargo box to have on top of your vehicle. Here with the roof basket, you have the option to put that cargo, whether you're going on a long trip, camping trip, road trip, and you have some luggage or other types of items, this is going to be a lot easier to use other than a cargo box sitting on top. It's much easier to get everything in and out and load it up quick and unloaded quickly as well.One thing that you want to check when it comes to how much weight and load that this basket can really hold is going to be based on not only your vehicle's specifications on what they require, but also the load that the bars that you're going to be mounting it on it that can hold as well. more

Andy: Hello everyone, Andy with etrailer, and today we're going to look at the etrailer medium-sized cargo basket on our 2013 Volkswagen Jetta.One of the main reasons to have a cargo basket mounted to the roof of your vehicle, this vehicle, the Jetta, being a little bit on the smaller side, you're going to need more space for passengers or for extra cargo as well. So having the option to have it roof-mounted is one way to go.This specific basket allows up to 165 pounds to be loaded into it. Just to keep in mind, this basket alone, just itself, is going to weigh almost 30 pounds, so you need to make sure that the weight capacity that your bars can handle doesn't exceed those two. These bars specifically can hold up to 220 pounds, so we've got a little bit of room to work with.One thing we want to keep in mind is the clearance that we have from the bars to the top of the roof basket. Right now, we have anywhere between 8 and 8 1/2 inches at its peak point.One thing with this specific cargo basket, we have multiple tie-down points in order to keep that cargo that's going to be loaded secure. It is made out of steel, very, very durable, and it's also powder-coated in black, and that's going to keep it corrosive resistant, whenever you're driving in the elements or whenever you're loading things that might happen to nick it, scratch it. more

Now what's great about getting a cargo basket like this is that if you want to maximize your space in your truck bed, you can store things inside there, as well as outside of it. This also works on roof racks. We don't have a roof rack on our truck right now. So it's attached to our Yakima bedrock HD racks, which sits more low-profile, but it works just as well on other factory racks. So we have this here on our Tacoma, and as you can see, I like this size because I can also attach mount things on our rack here beside the cargo basket, because this cargo basket has dimensions outside of 40 by 44. more

Adam: What's going on, everybody Adam here with etrailer.Today, we're going to be taking a look at the etrailer rooftop cargo basket. So this is going to be a great way to get a lot of that cargo that's on the inside of your guys's Tahoe up and out, so it's going to give everybody a lot more room.As of right now, the room that we have inside the cargo carrier is going to be about 55in x 31-3/8in and these rails are going to sit about 9 inches tall. It's going to fit on a lot of other bars that you guys have even if you do have the OEM factory roof rack system with your guys's Tahoe. The cool thing about this product compared to all the other ones is we actually have options when it comes to size. We can actually add an insert sold separately, and that's going to add about 12 inches of length to the basket, which I really like that just because we have those kind of options. If we don't have a whole lot of stuff, and we really don't want this big, old thing up on top of our Tahoe, we can actually remove this, of course, and then that will take away about 12 inches of storage.One thing I like to do in putting these baskets up on the roof is offsetting them to one side. more

Today, we're going to be taking a look at the MaxxTow roof mounted cargo basket on our 2020 Chrysler Pacifica.So on our Pacifica here, we have quite a bit of space to put our people; a lot of seats, three rows, but honestly, leg room is kind of at a minimum. So if we're going on a trip to Florida, somewhere far away, it's going to just be ideal to get all of our stuff out and up on to our basket. Just because I always like to have plenty of legroom, and you guys probably know better than me when the kids are comfy in the back, when you're going on long trips, they're usually happier, which makes everybody a lot more happy.So we are going to have a steel construction with a nice powder coated finish, so it's going to match our factory bars pretty well. It's not too glossy, not too flat. Also, we are going to have about 38 and a half inches by 34 and a half inches of space and these sidewalls here are going to come up about three and a quarter inches. more

Now as you can see, this is a really big basket we've got loaded up here. We're going to be able to get a ton of cargo loaded up. If we got excess cargo for a camping trip and we don't have room inside our 4Runner, We can get it installed up there. Or if we just have something dirty or muddy here that we don't want dirty and got the inside of our 4Runner, we can throw it up in the basket, get a secured, and then be good to go.Like I said, this is a really big basket. Adam: Hi, everyone, Adam, with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the CURT roof mounted cargo basket on our 2019 Toyota Sienna. This is going to be a great addition to your van just because it has a lot of passengers and might as well just free up some space if you're going on a long trip. We are going to have a dimensions of about 41 and a half inches by 37 and a half inches, and these sidewalls here are going to stick up about four inches.We do have a lot of space on this roof, so if you really wanted to maximize your roof and what you can carry up here, you can go ahead and actually grab an extension. It's sold separately, but it does add 21 inches to the overall length of this basket, which is always a plus. I always just try to maximize my roof whenever I'm putting a basket up on there. more

John: Hey guys, John here from etrailer.com and today we have a 2019 Toyota Tacoma. We're test fitting the Yakima OffGrid cargo basket. This has a 165-pound weight capacity and it's a great way to add some more cargo space to your pickup. It has an overall length of 44 inches and an overall width of 40 inches, but internally you're adding here about 39 inches by about 38 inches worth of cargo area. You do have the integrated crossbars here you can kind of move front and back and the back end here is open. So it really opens up the possibilities of what kind of cargo you can fit.As you can see, we still have plenty of space underneath the cargo basket here to store extra stuff. more
